Sessions can be accepted a various formats including ProTools sessions, Logic projects as well as just rendered audio files. The latter being the preferred and most reliable method.
Please follow these steps to guarantee a problem free transfer of your work to the mixing stage.
1: Labelling
Please label all tracks and files with the name of the sound/instrument recorded on it.
2: Plugins and other Effects
Remove all processing and effects on all tracks you are submitting. Only tracks that are musically dependant on their effects should have effects applied. Amp simulators can also be rendered with their effects in place. Ideally, please also provide alternate unprocessed versions with the suffix "DRY" in their filename. Automation should also be removed on all tracks unless they musically relevant (please make sure that volumes are set to 0db before bouncing).
3: Rendering/Bouncing Parts
Please bounce out all tracks in your session with the same start point so that everything aligns when imported into the mix workstation. Leave your files at the the same bit and sample rate they were recorded at (eg. 44.1kHz, 24-bit). File formats accepted are either wav or aif.
Before sending all the files, it can greatly speed up the transfer process if you compress the folder into a zip or rar file.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding any part of the transfer process, please feel free to ask. It is far better to solve these problems ahead of time and I'm happy to assist you to get any issues sorted out.
